The Artelier collection has been part of Oris's catalog since 1991, when the company introduced the first Artelier Complication. Since then, it has evolved through occasional updates, the most recent in 2017. However, what the brand presented in April at Watches & Wonders Geneva was much more than a simple refresh: it was a complete reinterpretation of the collection. The project was spearheaded by Lena Huwiler, a product designer of just 24 years old, responsible for giving the entire family a new identity. Within this new phase, the Artelier Date is positioned as the entry-level model: a 38mm dress watch that Oris defines as a urban dress watch<\/em>, designed to move with the same naturalness between a formal environment and everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dial with two different textures<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The centerpiece of this redesign is the dial, and there's a nuance worth clarifying here: not all three color versions share the same treatment. The blue and chocolate dials have a radial texture made of engraved lines alternating between solid and dashed, a sunburst effect that stops at the hour-marker ring to create a sectioned contrast. The white dial, by contrast, has a different pattern: a finer swirl, similar to an eggshell texture. The indices are wedge-profiled, applied and polished, with the 12 o'clock marker enlarged relative to the rest. The hour and minute hands are baton-shaped, tapered at the tip, joined by a central seconds hand with no counterweight. The frameless date window, matching the dial color, sits at 6 o'clock, discreet, without interrupting the dial's visual cleanliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's under the crystal<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Oris Calibre 733 powering this Artelier Date is a Sellita SW200-1 base with a custom red rotor, not an in-house movement. It beats at 28,800 vph (4Hz), delivers 41 hours of power reserve, and carries no chronometer certification, figures and omissions that are standard for the segment. It's worth seeing it within the price ladder of its own family, relaunched the same day: the Artelier S (time-only) costs $100 more; the Artelier Complication adds a moonphase and a 24-hour GMT second time zone for $750 more ($2,950 on leather); the H\u00f6lstein Edition 2026, limited to 250 pieces, debuts the line's first in-house movement (Calibre 401) at $4,600; and the Artelier Calibre 113, with an in-house business-calendar movement, starts at $7,600. The Date, with its Sellita base, is deliberately the entry point, not the family's most ambitious technical piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latin America and Spain Perspective, with real numbers this time: on Oris's official site for Mexico, the Artelier Date costs $48,000 MXN on leather and $52,000 MXN on a steel bracelet, a price the manufacturer publishes directly in Mexican pesos. In Spain, the official price is \u20ac1,750 and \u20ac1,950. We found no Oris online store dedicated to Colombia or Argentina within oris.ch; that doesn't mean there are no authorized dealers in those countries, but it does mean we couldn't confirm an official price in Colombian or Argentine pesos.
