Oris Adds the ProPilot Bronze, Its Second Bronze Watch for Aviation

The new take on the ProPilot Date, redesigned in 2025, arrives in a multi-piece bronze case, a material with a character of its own that many collectors specifically seek out, paired with a dark green suede strap.

During Geneva Watch Days on 2 September 2026, Oris introduced the ProPilot Bronze, the first bronze variant of the ProPilot Date line since the Hölstein manufacture redesigned it in 2025. The case keeps that update's proportions, at 41mm in diameter, 11.70mm thick and 49mm lug to lug, and presents them in multi-piece bronze on the bezel, crown and case body.

The caseback is the exception: it remains a screwed stainless steel back with a mineral-glass window onto the red rotor of the Oris calibre 733.

Bronze with a steel back

The turbine-inspired fluted bezel, the grippy oversized crown based on a 1938 Oris pilot's design, and the full case body are made from multi-piece bronze. The front crystal is sapphire, domed on both sides with an internal anti-reflective coating, while the screwed caseback is stainless steel with a mineral-glass window onto the movement's rotor. The dial is black, with applied Arabic numerals and Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers, and keeps the 6 o'clock date position the 2025 redesign introduced, for a symmetrical layout. With wear, the bronze develops a patina of its own that turns every watch into a one-of-a-kind piece: the tone shifts with the wearer's skin, climate and habits, so a ProPilot Bronze ages together with its owner and ends up looking unlike any other example of the same reference. Water resistance is 10 bar, or 100 metres.

The calibre 733

Behind that window runs the Oris calibre 733, built on a proven Sellita SW200 base, itself derived from the ETA 2824. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, carries 26 jewels and offers 41 hours of power reserve, with central hours, minutes and seconds, a date window, instantaneous date change, a corrector and stop-seconds. Oris finishes it with its own decoration and its signature red rotor.

The second time in bronze

Oris has worked with bronze since 2016, when it introduced the material on the Carl Brashear Limited Edition, and has since extended it to the Divers Sixty-Five, the Big Crown Pointer Date and a chronograph from the Hölstein Edition series. Within the aviation family specifically, though, the ProPilot Bronze is only the second watch to get this case. The first was the Big Crown ProPilot Big Date Bronze, introduced in October 2021: the same 41mm diameter but a thicker 12.4mm case, a big-date complication at 3 o'clock, the Oris calibre 751 (a Sellita SW220-1 base, the larger sibling of the SW200-1) with 38 hours of reserve, a technical green Ventile strap, and a price of CHF 1,950. The 2026 version trades the big date for a simple date at 6, trims the case thickness, swaps in the calibre 733, replaces the technical strap with suede, and raises the price to CHF 2,250.

Price within the catalogue

In the United States, Oris sells the ProPilot Bronze at USD 2,750, a figure that places it above the collection's four steel references, priced between USD 2,350 and USD 2,550, and below the ProPilot Desert Edition, at USD 3,500. Bronze costs between USD 200 and USD 400 more than steel depending on the reference compared, while the movement, case and remaining specifications stay the same.

Regional availability

The official Oris website lists the ProPilot Bronze at 59,000 Mexican pesos and 2,250 euros in Spain. Oris has official distribution in Mexico through various retail outlets, including El Palacio de Hierro and Liverpool. The official Oris website (oris.ch) features a tool for locating stores and points of sale across various Latin American countries.

Climate also affects how the piece ages: humidity and salt air speed up the patina, so a ProPilot Bronze worn in a coastal city changes tone sooner than one worn somewhere dry.
